The event
Something has gone missing from the Anglo-Saxon and Viking Gallery at Norwich Castle! Take on the role of trainee journalists attending a press conference to investigate the disappearance of an artefact.
Interrogate the expert curator and question a police officer at the crime scene. Make notes, try to discover what happened to the missing object, and prepare a draft newspaper report which can be developed back at school.
Learning outcomes
- Use the styles and conventions of journalism to report on an event.
- In non-narrative material, use simple organisational devices (for example, headings and sub-headings).
- Engage with museum objects and environments as sources of inspiration and knowledge.
