What's here at Norwich Castle
Construction work on the Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn project is entering its final phase. We hope to reopen some areas of the Castle Keep to visitors later this year. We're planning to fully open the Keep in spring 2025.
Some areas of the Castle site are not open because of the building work. Check what's open before you visit.
The Norwich Castle site contains:
- The 900-year-old Castle Keep (currently closed for redevelopment)
- A large gallery complex converted from the city's Victorian prison (which remains open)
It is home to internationally important collections in:
- Archaeology
- Natural history
- Regimental history
- Fine, decorative and contemporary art
