Opening times at Norwich Castle

Please note that the original medieval castle, dungeons and battlements are currently closed to the public. This is due to our major redevelopment project. Some other areas are also affected by the project. For more information visit the What's Open page.

Access to Norwich Castle during works to remove the tower crane 

The tower crane which has been vital for the Royal Palace Reborn construction project will soon be removed. The work to remove the crane will take place from Monday 18 November to Tuesday 3 December.

Current opening times

Monday to Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sundays: 1pm to 5pm

Bank holidays and seasonal opening

Norwich Castle will be open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

We will be open on Monday Bank Holidays in May and August.

On 24 December (Christmas Eve) we will open from 10am to 2pm.

We will be closed on 25 December (Christmas Day), 26 December (Boxing Day) and 1 January (New Year's Day).

Booking your tickets

Tickets are available on arrival and you can book your tickets in advance online. We would recommend booking in advance during busier periods.
